Pita and dips at Mooie Boules

Mooie Boules

You can find Mooie Boules hidden in Amsterdam East, right behind beer brewery Brouwerij ’t IJ. It’s the first jeu de boules spot in Amsterdam. They also have a bar and a food court where you can try some Indian food, Israelic food, fries, fried chicken and stuff like that. It’s a really cool place to hang out even if you’re not into jeu de boules.

Green gem De Cantina

De Cantina

It’s quite hard not to relax when you’re at De Cantina. You can reach this green oase by bike and once you arrive it’s chill mode all the way. They open from March til October. Find a spot to sit or maybe even try the hammock that’s hanging over the water. You can buy something simple to eat or drink at the container that is turned into a bar.

Flora Amsterdam tacorestaurant

Flora is surrounded by trees

Flora

Flora used to pop up at places and served innovative tacos under the name Best Coast Taqueria. They have a permanent spot for a few months now and it’s hidden in a small park in Amsterdam Old West. The park is quite unknown even for locals. Try and ask them where you can find the Bilderdijkpark and they will give you a hollow stare. Once you’ve found this tiny glass house you will find a cute and cozy spot where you can set your teeth in some yummie Mexican snacks and tacos. They also have beers to wash down everything.

Kef Kaas Amsterdam proeflokaal Noord

Sampling cheese at Kef

Kef in North

Abraham Kef is well known for his excellent cheeses. They have a shop in the Marnixstraat and on the Czaar Peterstraat in Amsterdam East. But since last year they’ve opened up a cheese shop and tasting room across the IJ in Amsterdam North. Besides the fact that this cheese shop is quite far away for most locals so it’s less visited, they also have a cheese tasting room with a terrace. The sunny terrace faces a cute square. It’s a perfect spot to sit back with a selection of cheeses, charcuterie and a glass of beer or wine. Just a suggestion.
